I'm writing these off as a complete loss and will find r eplacements for the 2 that died as well as the 2 currently running (assuming they'll die soon) from another vendor. At this point I assume they will not reply or honor the stated 1 year warranty. I emailed their US support and sales contacts with all the same information 14 days ago and received no reply. Orico's US website has a post-sales support form that I've filled out a handful of times (included amazon order#) on different browsers, but it never shows any status update or change when I hit submit. The jmicon controller is detected by the kernel and a /dev/sd* device is created, but attempting to print or write partitions with fdisk / parted result in the following syslog errors:Īug 19 14:56:41 ****** kernel: sd 0:0:0:0: Unit Not ReadyĪug 19 14:56:41 ****** kernel: sd 0:0:0:0: Sense Key : Hardware Error Īug 19 14:56:41 ****** kernel: sd 0:0:0:0: ASC=0x44 >ASCQ=0x81Īug 19 14:56:41 ****** kernel: sd 0:0:0:0: Read Capacity(16) failed: Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_OK The added ports are all situated at the front of the Mac mini for easy access. I purchased four of these ~9 months ago for long term storage on raspberry pi 4's. It is designed to fit directly underneath the Mac mini and takes up only one of the rear Thunderbolt 3 ports.
